I bought the dam, Pinehill Phantom Miss Gold, of this litter already bred to Pinehill Elhew Duke from Garry Surratt of Pinehill Kennels. Garry's pretty much has done everything for me, he planned the litter, whelped them, weaned them and took care of them until they where 8 weeks old. Garry has over 25 years of experience raising bird dogs and planned for this litter as if it was one of his own and I can't thank him enough for everything he has done.

Pinehill Elhew Duke is a DNA son of Elhew Damascus and his monther was a daughter of Elhew Chaparral.

Pinehill Phantom Miss Gold, is a granddaughter of Elhew Phantom and Elhew Chaparral.

Started Black Male Labrador Retriever: Trooper has had all his basic training including bird and gun introduction, on and off leash obedience, force fetching, collar conditioning, 3 handed casting, force to a pile and has just started the double T. He runs nice single marks and will do basic double retrieves. Trooper hunted pheasants in South Dakota in '07 and did very well. He is strong in the water and retrieves mallards through decoys.

Check his breeding. He is very well bred and his sire is currently qualified for the '08 National Amature. His mother is out of a 2X National amature winner. Trooper is yellow factored as the sire was black and the mother was yellow.

Close working, easy to handle Elhew bred Gundog. Super strong and athletic, excellent nose, lots of point. "Whoa", "Here", "Sit" & "Kennel". Natural Retrieve. Father is Elhew Gold Strike and Mother is Daughter to Elhew Distinction. I love the way Ranger is built, he has a very chiseled head and sculpted body. He's tall & lean with long legs and can really move and looks good doing it. If you're more concerned with how your dog looks than how he performs, you probably wouldn't like Ranger, he does have some color on his body. If he has any drawbacks, it would be that he can be a little bit bullheaded at times and he can also be aggressive towards other dogs around the kennel / feed pan, but I've never had a problem with him in the field. I run Ranger & Scout together all the time and they work very well together. Rangers been one of my favorite dogs, I hate to even offer him for sale and will probably kick myself later, but I need to make some room at the kennel.
